About the Founder – Ray Rasmussen
As a trade press publisher for over 30 years, the founder has experienced first-hand the transition from a traditional printed publishing business to a web-based products or services publishing business. He is keenly aware of the difficulties many publishers face as they’ve had to surrender historically valuable products to the new market realities.
As a publisher serving the printed circuit board industry, Rasmussen has attended hundreds of industry technical sessions, Technology Roadmap meetings, market strategy sessions, interviewed hundreds of industry experts and been part of lobbying/advocacy efforts in Sacramento and Washington D.C.
In the late ‘90s, Rasmussen was involved in several initiatives to improve industry communications sponsored by the industry association, the IPC. It became apparent, then, that the way companies shared information was woefully lacking. At the time, all that could be done was mostly talk about the issues and offer some minor tweaks to help somewhat. Although a more comprehensive solution was needed, there weren’t many options. With Vloyen (flowen), that changes.
The founder has been focusing his efforts on the development of Vloyen over the last several years.
This quote below best describes this journey.
All the things that have ever deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it, tantalizing glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear. But if it should really become manifest – if there ever came an echo that did not die away but swelled into the sound itself – you would know it. Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say ‘Here at last is the thing I was made for.
Vloyen is an inspiration from God. It is He who has prepared me for this and I acknowledge Him as the source.—Founder, Ray Rasmussen
